The World at your finger tips

I got my world in my fingers tips.  My mobile phone has most of the social media applications downloaded. My hand-held device is connected to the world.

Latest mobile phones are very compatible and user-friendly. It is in fact easier to establish your social connections on mobile phones than on desktop/laptops. There are even basic phones with built in social media applications, it’s probably because social media is required more On-the-GO. Our world is revolving around social networking sites, the news is reaching YOU instead of you reaching for news. If you have still not taken few minutes to download applications then you don’t know what you’re missing. Learn how to use mobile phone to your advantage! Here you go.. I describe below advantages using social networking sites on mobile.

LinkedIn

is bit slow loading especially while downloading photographs if you have over 500+ connecctions. Nevertheless when you are on profile page and your connected users have shared twitter login, then by right click option you can follow them on twitter.
This is very crucial because you get a chance to get closer to your clients and customers.

Add twitter, Amazon and link-blogs to your LinkedIn profile and also many other applications available. I recommend you to explore various other products, services available in the market to help enhance social networking. Inter connecting your social networking sites is possible by just few clicks and can also be disconnected easily so no need to be worried on what would happen if you interconnect or link FB , Twitter, word-press and so many other widgets and applications.

Talking of tips, I’ll share a secret. By joining “Groups” on LinkedIn, you can send the invitation to connect with you to all the group members which is otherwise not possible.

Twitter

My Twitter mobile application is fantabulous!! I never enjoyed Tweeting on mobile than on lap/desktop.

Finger tips – If u configure your phone to alert you for every new message / DM(direct message) / @mention the mobile would not only message you and highlight on home screen, it also shows up on mails and stores in separate folder for future reference.

But remember to configure alert settings to send you auto generated mails for every DM/@. Normally @mentions highlights faster on mobile but not DM it’s a bug in twitter mobile application. I get my direct message alert auto mail on my mailbox. Even from these mails I can directly connect to my twitter profile of requested user or alternatively just respond as mail and not as DM or Reply .

Most times response to your LinkedIn message is by mails instead of reply on LinkedIn Inbox, the reason is the mail has also gone to users mail services account when you write on LinkedIn Inbox so it’s important to check mails / map email account to your mobile phone.

Lastly very important tip, your “options” section on mobile phone would start showing additional options after downloading applications which is a boon for all of us. Those are

A) Get more LinkedIn message and view LinkedIn profile, to the email that you have received both on your official or personal inbox message configured. This is really helpful as you can connect to all those people who have mailed you, provided they have registered that email id as primary or secondary email address while creating Twitter, fb or #in account.

B) There are further “options” under each application downloaded for example Facebook – write on wall, send message etc. What I’m trying to say here is inter connecting b/w social media on phone is very easy by just few clicks. It’s same for all other social application you download.

C) I really liked this option which should really make you start using your phone immediately to socialize! I can send page address shortened and sent to twitter or fb without any external URL shortening service. After reading a website/blog if you like it, instead of using’ Like’ button given on site go to send address and choose FB or twitter send options. It will come as your own link instead of RT. New Twitter version has new option when you choose RT..>??? Quote tweet! this option is unavailable on twitter.com/hoot suite/tweet deck.

There are many more advantages of using mobile for social networking sites and fewer disadvantages.

If you give me an application or any new tool or product, I end up testing its features extensively.

Basically I am a gadget person and learn quickly, Most importantly friends, I like to share all that I experiment and learn!

I have got this entire post published in about half an hour from my blackberry word press application, don’t you forget to download word-press on your phone. Its best among all others apps it’s quick, simpler than using on desktop. Trust this info is helpful.

I sign off from hand-held finger tips 🙂 social networking is more popular on mobile phone than desktop. A news letter publication below.

A recent study from Ruder Finn revealed that Americans are spending nearly three hours per day on their mobile phones. And what are they doing there? Educating themselves, conducting business, managing finances, instant messaging, emailing? All of the above, as it turns out, and then some. But perhaps the most interesting finding from the new data is the fact that more people are using the mobile web to socialize (91%) compared to the 79% of desktop users who do the same. It appears that the mobile phone is actually a better platform for social networking than the PC.

    Great post Shashank!
Lets not forget the Ubiquitous Facebook, that makes it possible to connect to 500 million people using it from your mobile.
Twitter and Facebook can be easily synchronized. All that you tweet on Twitter will appear as status updates on Facebook.
